Export anatomy

A slot grid that stays readable as it grows

The inventory maker creates a named ScreenGui, a scrolling grid, item cards, rarity labels, quantities, and an optional equipped badge. Slot count and columns are shared by the browser preview and the Luau model.

  • ScreenGui with a bounded inventory frame
  • ScrollingFrame for extra rows
  • UIGridLayout with your chosen column count
  • ItemName, RarityLabel, and QuantityLabel per card
  • Equipped state shown as a visible badge
  • Empty slots kept in the exported layout

Studio handoff

Check dense grids before players do

A grid can look comfortable with four slots and become hard to scan with twenty-four. Use the scrollable preview to check the longest names, smallest device, and equipped state.

  • Try 24 slots with 2 columns to verify scrolling.
  • Try 4 slots with 4 columns to verify the wide layout.
  • Use long item names and translated rarity labels.
  • Check quantity and equipped badges at mobile width.
  1. STEP 1

    Set the grid shape

Choose a slot count and column count that match the screen size and the number of items players usually carry.

  2. STEP 2

    Edit item cards

Give each sample a name, rarity, quantity, and optional equipped badge so the preview matches the state you want to communicate.

  3. STEP 3

    Copy the Luau

Paste the exported file into a LocalScript under StarterPlayerScripts and inspect the named instances in Roblox Studio.

  4. STEP 4

    Connect real data

Read and validate inventory data in your own game systems. Do not let a client-only label grant, duplicate, or equip an item.

Responsive review

Use the inventory layout as a visual starting point

Copy the Luau into a LocalScript, replace the sample item labels with data from your game, and keep ownership/equip decisions on the server. The export is a UI layout, not a persistence system.

What the export does not do

The generated file does not read DataStore data, save inventory changes, grant items, equip tools, or prove ownership. Those systems belong in your Roblox experience and should be validated server-side.

Common questions

Roblox inventory GUI FAQ

Can I change the number of inventory slots?+

Yes. Use 4–24 slots and choose 2–6 columns. Additional rows scroll in both the preview and the generated ScrollingFrame.

Do item names and rarity settings reach the Luau export?+

Yes. Each item becomes a named card with ItemName, RarityLabel, QuantityLabel, and an optional EquippedBadge that uses the current settings.

Does this create a working player inventory?+

No. It creates the visual layout only. Loading, saving, ownership, duplication protection, and equip logic must be implemented in your own validated game systems.

Can I use it on mobile?+

The preview and export use a responsive panel, a scrolling grid, and scale-based sizing. Test the final text, images, safe area, and input behavior in Studio's Device Emulator.

Is Game UI Maker affiliated with Roblox?+

No. Game UI Maker is an independent creator tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Roblox Corporation.

How it runs

No sign-up

Open the maker and start editing. Copying or downloading the Luau export does not need an account.

Works on a phone

The editor runs in a mobile browser and the preview switches to a phone layout, so you can check scaling before you export.

Free while in beta

The generator stays free during the beta. No card, no trial timer.
